Introduction:
The falling film evaporator facilitates the concentration of a
liquid by introducing it at the top of a heating tube. Inside the
tube, the liquid forms a thin film that flows downward along the
inner wall. As the external heat is applied to the tube, the liquid
film boils and partially evaporates. A separator is located at the
bottom of the column to separate the remaining liquid from the
steam generated.
By carefully determining the material and liquid flow rates within
the heat exchange tube, one can prevent the tube from drying out at
the bottom, ensure an optimal thickness of the liquid film, achieve
efficient heat exchange, and minimize power consumption.
The falling film evaporator is versatile and capable of both cycle
and one-way evaporation.
